From video: 1993 a german high speed train the ICE ( InterCityExpress) was shipped to the USA. This train made a big tour in USA and was presented in several states. On the NEC the ICE served for several weeks as an ordinary Metroliner Service between Washington Union Station and NY Penn.
It feels tired at this point, but America needs trains and less planes for short distances.
